Michael Kim

SpecialityFounder & CEO of AQUATRON

Michael Kim is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of AQUATRON, a pioneering company
in the field of advanced data center infrastructure and sustainable cooling technologies.
Under his leadership, AQUATRON has become recognized for its innovative approach to
high-density, energy-efficient data center solutions, with a particular focus on supporting
the rapidly growing demands of artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
Kim’s vision for AQUATRON centers on the integration of cutting-edge cooling systems—
such as direct-to-chip liquid cooling—and the adoption of alternative energy sources
including natural gas, hydrogen, and ammonia. These advancements have enabled
AQUATRON to deliver data centers with ultra-high rack capacities (up to 120kW per rack) and
industry-leading energy efficiency, achieving a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) as low as
1.051. AQUATRON’s projects are also designed with sustainability in mind, capturing up to
95% of carbon emissions for use in green cement production, and setting new benchmarks
for carbon-neutral operations in the sector.
Michael Kim’s career is marked by a blend of entrepreneurial drive, strategic vision, and a
commitment to technological innovation. He began his professional journey as a top talent
in the automotive industry, quickly earning a reputation as a strategic thinker and problem
solver, especially after becoming the first Six Sigma Black Belt in Ford Motor Company
history. His early exposure to business, economics, and technology fueled his passion for
entrepreneurship and inspired him to found ventures that bridge market needs with
transformative solutions.
Before founding AQUATRON, Kim founded a private firm focused on early-stage technology
investments and commercial real estate, where he played a key role in identifying and
nurturing businesses that would go on to disrupt their industries in the government
contracting, as he has been a U.S. federal contractor since 2008. His leadership extended
beyond capital investment, offering mentorship and strategic guidance to students in third
world countries. Throughout his career, Kim has remained committed to social
responsibility, supporting initiatives in education, technology access, and entrepreneurship
for underrepresented communities. Never taking a No for an answer, Kim single-handedly
brought satellite internet into the schools in mountain villages of Ranquitte and Savane Cog
in Haiti in 2019, by convincing the largest internet company in Haiti to send their installers to
the mountains while Kim brought TV monitors from the United States.
Known for his humility, integrity, and collaborative spirit, Michael Kim is respected by peers
and colleagues alike. With infectious energy, he is recognized not only as a business leader
and innovator but also as a changemaker dedicated to uplifting others and making a positive
impact in our society.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, a
Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA in Corporate
Strategy from University of Michigan and has been acknowledged for his academic
excellence and leadership. Outside of his professional pursuits, he is passionate about
tennis (USTA 4.5), travel (98 countries), and lifelong learning, and is dedicated to maintaining
a balanced and enriching personal life. As a self-proclaimed “car guy”, he has owned over
50 cars in his lifetime, including a Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche and collectible BMWs,
and he respects any OEM’s that still produce manual transmissions. Mike is known to bump
his own son into corners on go-kart tracks.
Today, Michael Kim continues to steer AQUATRON towards global expansion, forging
strategic partnerships — such as the recent Memorandum Of Understanding with ITCEN
Group to build carbon-neutral, AI-optimized data centers in South Korea — and setting new
standards for the industry’s future. Assisting various sovereign nations to achieve their own
Sovereign AI by deploying Aquatron MINI PODs, Kim believes in the “benevolent” AGI and
urges others to join him in creating the ultimate AGI-ready infrastructure together.
